are non refundable unless I am able to offer your place to someone else. Should I

Workshops are held in my cosy studio - maximum 3 persons.
If you would like me to travel to your venue for larger groups please ask for details.
Come and have fun, you don’t need to have specific skills just a sense of humour
and a can-do attitude. We’ll work on a sense of exploration of techniques and mini-projects.

Introduction to Felt Making
Learn the basics of felt making, turning fibre to fabric for both functional and artistic use. The morning will be spent experimenting, learning the process and making sample pieces. Spend the afternoon on an individual mini project. Warning! Felt making can be addictive!

Embellished Felt Collage
Learn the basics of felt making. You will make a piece of felt as your canvas and develop this into a piece of art work to be proud of through machine and hand embellishments.

Felt Sketches
Learn the basics of felt making. You will make a piece of felt as your canvas drawing fibres onto the surface to create sketches.

Appliquéd/Machine Embroidered Design on Handmade Felt
Learn the basics of felt making. You will make a piece of felt as your canvas. You will experiment with machine embroidery & appliqué methods and develop this into a piece of art work to be proud of.
Full day intensive workshop (6hrs)
Embellished Felt Seascape
Learn the basics of felt making. You will build up a background canvas and develop the piece through machine and hand embellishments.

Felt Hat Workshop
Make a wearable piece of artwork to be proud of. A list of requirements will be sent on confirmation of workshop.
The workshop has been designed so that students will be able to go away and make additional hats using everyday household equipment.

Get to grips with your sewing machine & Understanding paper patterns
Have you a sewing machine but not the confidence to use it? Would you like to sew but not sure where to start? Spend the morning getting to know your machine, learn how to thread it up and get started on various stitches and simple sewing. Spend the afternoon Understanding paper patterns, we’ll start by looking at commercial patterns, cutting out, preparation for sewing and suitable seams and finishes. Further skills and techniques as time permits and participants requirements. Further sessions can be planned to build on these skills. Full day workshop.
Textile Techniques - Introduction to Free Machine Embroidery & Appliqué
For those already confident with the basic use of the sewing machine who want to extend their skills. With a combination of appliqué & machine embroidery this workshop will show you how to use your machine as a drawing tool to transform a plain fabric into something more decorative. You will end up with 2 or 3 designs which can then be turned into individual coasters or mini works of art.
